Melanie is our hostess for Share Your World.
Questions:
1) What’s your favorite way to spend a day off? If you’re retired, what’s something you now include in your schedule that you dreamed about while employed? I spend hours most days in my garden. If I am not working on some project, I am napping on my swing.
2) Now that Covid isn’t so strictly monitored and folks can go out and about again, are you into after-work happy hours? I don’t drink, never have. Occasionally, when I was working, I would go to happy hour with teachers and have a diet coke. I still mask up every time I go out in public. No reason to slack off now.
3) What physical traits do you share with your relatives? (Example: I have my mother’s nose) I have my mother’s fair skin that always burns and never tans. I have my bio-dad’s brown eyes. I have my mom’s ears. I am the middle child with features from both parents. One brother has strictly paternal features, the other is strictly maternal features.
4) How long does it take you to decide if you like someone or not? Not long at all. My gut reaction to someone is rarely wrong. A few minutes is all I need.
GRATITUDE SECTION: Feel free to share some wisdom you live by.
As always Lauren you talk a lot of sense 💜💜

You’re lucky to have the instinct to recognize who is a good for you and who isn’t.

I had to remove my mask to drink water at PT the other day. One of the young therapists remarked “that’s the first time I’ve seen your smile. You have a nice smile!” I’ve been going for six weeks.

I get it. We even wear our masks in the pool at water therapy.

Thank you Lauren for Sharing Your World and wisdom today! 🙂 Gardening and relaxing in a swing sound so peaceful! It’s a gift to be able to instinctively know when someone isn’t quite up to standard. I do that, to a degree, but I’m loads more suspicious than you are. I also rely on Ziggy (and former furkids) for guidance. If the dog doesn’t like a stranger, well neither do I. You can fool people most of the time, but no way you’re getting past their dog. I hope you have a great week! 🙂

Great answers. I wish I had your intuition about people (my wife does). I am often taken in by people with a false presence,
