All About Me – 4/10/2020

All about me could be done in a few lines or an entire book. I will attempt something in between.

I began blogging as a result of a yearlong challenge from a writing group teacher. She kept telling us it would change our lives. It did. I was, at the time, in therapy recovering from PTSD. The goal of my blog was an extension of keeping track of things to be grateful for. It was a great way to see the positive things in my world.

Along the way I saw it not only helped with my emotional pain but also my physical pain. I suffer from a variety of physical ailments. I have not had a totally pain free day in years and years. I work hard to not have my pain define me. Most of the time I am fairly successful.

I retired June 2019 after teaching for many many years. I loved my classroom and my students. I did not love the political issues nor the focus on testing more than kids. When the reasons to retire outweighed the reasons to stay, I took the leap and retired.

I am a spouse, a mother, a grandmother, a sister, a niece, a cousin, an aunt, a friend, and a furbaby mamma.

I enjoy reading, blogging, sewing, gardening, thrifting, upcycling, scrapbooking, photography, and cooking. I am a master of none but I enjoy them all.

Blogging began as a major part of my recovery. Now it is a way to temporarily leave the stress of the real world to enjoy the friendly community of bloggers.
