D Verse Quadrille Monday

I pine for my reality before my cancer diagnosis
My biggest worry, how to spend my time finding joy
Never looking at CA-125 numbers
Not worrying about overwhelming fatigue
Certainly not experiencing unexpected nausea
But this is my new reality
And I’m still here

I Hear You

Early this morning I heard soft bells

I knew it was you calling me

I’m here now with open arms

Ready for your embrace

Forgive my earlier weakness

I was foolish ignoring your pleas

I’m eager to depart this realm

My ascension is imminent

dVerse~ Poets Pub asks us to write a quadrille today using the word bell.

Quadrille #160: Poems that Pack a Punch

De Jackson (aka whimsygizmo) is today’s host for dVerse’ Quadrille Monday.  De says: …make sure your piece contains some form of the word punch and comes in at exactly 44 words total.

I wait in the office
anxiously pacing the floor
I get weighed and
then answer questions
I stay in the little room
cold and alone
I hear muffled voices
outside the door
I listen to the doctor’s
words that leave me
feeling gut punched
