When I decrease my sphere of influence
It is to protect myself
I replace my arrogant thoughts of supporting everyone
With solitary intuition
I can be independent by challenging myself
To solely take care of my needs
When I am successful in my endeavor
It leaves me smiling
It is no illusion that growth means change
For the betterment of my happiness

Fandango’s One Word Challenge (FOWC), is practice.
The things I don’t need to practice:
I don’t need to practice washing dishes, yet dirty ones arrive uninvited in my sink.
I don’t need to practice paying bills, yet they multiply if I ignore them.
I don’t need to practice doing the laundry, yet clothes mysteriously reappear in the hamper.
I don’t need to practice cooking, yet my stomach demands I feed it regularly.
I don’t need to practice pulling weeds, yet the day after I finish more raise their heads in defiance.
I don’t need to practice vacuuming, yet dust bunnies like to congregate under the furniture.
