My heavy heart will heal in time
Must search inside to avoid the world’s grime
Enough of the politician’s worthless chime
They’re given way too much airtime
We know who’s hands are dirty with grime
They too are at fault for the horrendous crime
Of taking lives still in their prime
Regaining joy will take much time
This poem responds to the Wea’ve Written Weekly prompt on Skeptics Kaddish. This week’s prompt poem is “Finding a Voice” by Murisopsis if you would like to read her poem or participate in the prompt visit the post here: The guidelines are:
- Write a poem with a ‘monorhyme’ as either the first word in each line or as the last word in each line (this means: ‘a single common rhyme’ in every line);
- Poems should be no less than four lines long.
Excellent writing and I agree with you 100%.

Lauren this one is an arrow to the heart! There is so much to blame and yet no one is willing to step up and make change….
