Share Your World – April 18

Melanie is our host for Share Your World. At her prompting, we get to share ourselves with the wonderful blogging community.

1) In your opinion, what do you buy way more of than most people? I’d be willing to bet money that I buy more laundry detergent than most people. I don’t wear clothes more than once, wear PJs more than once, or use towels more than once.

2) Which workers have the worst jobs? The vet at the zoo that has to express the anal glands of ANY zoo animal.

3) Opinion.  John Cage is a composer who composed a piece named 4’33” for any instrument. The performance are instructed not to play their instrument for four minutes and thirty-three seconds. Is this music or is this art?  A combination of the two?   Neither, it’s stupid.  Your opinion? I had to look this up. IMHO it is not art, nor music.

4) How good are you at drawing? I’m not good at all. My favorite line while teaching was that my students had to draw better than I did. I would draw something on the board, wait for everyone to laugh, and then they would cheer saying that they could do better than I did.

GRATITUDE SECTION- Feel free to share one amazing thing you’ve experienced (any time frame).

Whenever I go to the beach my soul is calmed and I am able to reenergize. It has been this way all my life. This is why I yearn to move to the beach.

  1. Thank you Lauren for Sharing Your World! That whole anal gland evacuation, on any animal has to be the most disgusting job in the whole world, you chose well! 🤢 I’ve been exposed to it a few times when I had a chihuahua (who are prone to impacted anal glands) whose burst open on the way to the vet. I think my brother had to fumigate the car afterward. Oh my goodness!! I admit I found that 4:33 thing really stupid. Why not just call it something like “Movement In Silence 4:33” or something. Odd. I’ve said before that you must have been an AWESOME teacher! What a lovely experience! Have a great week!

  2. Thanks Melanie. Maybe I just remember the good times. 😝 After having been judged for my lack of art ability I chose to not carry that forward. Have a great week.
