Quadrille #143: Muse

dVerse

De Jackson , aka WhimsyGizmo is today’s host for the first Quadrille of the new year over at dVerse Poets Pub. He states:
“The Quadrille is that pithy little poem of our own creation here at dVerse, in which we write poems of exactly 44 words (not including the title), and wedge in a word of our choosing.”

If I had things my way
I would certainly never choose
I’d change it any day
To have chocolate be my muse
Because on my hips it does betray
The extra pounds bring the blues
I cannot walk away
I must learn to refuse
44 words
