I think we are safe now. It took us over three weeks to finally find the isolated spot marked on the map. The directions were less than clear, but we knew the importance of getting here ASAP.  Our lives depended on us finding the solitary cabin.

We had to get out of the city as quickly as we could. We knew the clock was ticking. I packed everything for a long stay. I expect we will be here until the snow melts. Then we will need to find another hideaway. I hope our rations hold out.

If anyone would have told me that I would be living this life, I would have told them they were insane. What’s a California sun loving girl doing in this cold formidable environment? It is, what it is.

I am doing my time here, hiding from the unsavory parts of my recent past. It’s too soon to think about future possibilities. Right now, I must deal with the consequences of my actions. Being sentenced to this cold barren exile serves me right.
