Melanie brings us Share Your World. each week.
She asks the questions, and we get to answer them. Easy peasy..
QUESTIONS
1) Do you believe in soul-mates? (my definition of ‘soul mate’ is the IDEAL partner romantically). Not really. I am forever hopeful that everyone meets the person of their dreams. There are toooooo many factors IMHO to find the perfect soul-mate. Also the perfect person at 20 may not be the perfect person at 40 etc.
2) What are three scents you like? Warm brownie’s in the oven, warm chocolate chip cookies in the oven, the air after it rains
3) What are some things that you might be considered too old to do, but that you enjoy? I enjoy digging in the dirt until I am covered with mud and the ants have taken over my body.
4) What is one food you absolutely refuse to share? I honestly don’t think I have ever refused to share an food, in my entire life.
GRATITUDE SECTION (as always, optional)
I am very grateful that tonight I will be participating in a Zoom Rosh Hashanah New Year’s Service.
Happy new year Lauren. Very well answered

Thank you Sadje. I am going to try and make an apple honey cake today for the first time. I know it will not be as good as my aunt’s or grandmothers, but I am going to try.

Thank you Paula. Shana Tova to you also. I just got back from the grocery store to get ingredients for my first apple honey cake. I am missing my family on this, the first holiday since losing my dear aunt.

Thank you Lauren for Sharing Your World. That apple honey cake will be fabulous, and I suspect will disappear quickly, so don’t put yourself up against your kin. They’d applaud your efforts I bet and be very satisfied with your cake! I am sorry about your aunt, that will probably make this first holiday a bit poignant. I hope it’s in a good way though, and that you are celebrating knowing her with the cake you’re making! 🙂 You are a very generous person obviously to share your food with others, some of us aren’t so altruistic. Have a wonderful Holiday!

Cooking for Jewish people, like many other cultures, is a way to show love. Now being retired, I am branching out to try more recipes. Thank you for the lovely comments. From your mouth, to her ears, my cake will be a remembrance of loving meals once shared.
