Marsha at Always Write hosts a challenge that requires adding a quote on a topic of her choice. Today’s topic is hope. I have not participated in this challenge before. I read Sadje’s post and looked further into the prompt.
“The very least you can do in your life is figure out what you hope for. And the most you can do is live inside that hope. Not admire it from a distance but live right in it, under its roof.” – Barbara Kingsolver
As a young child I had many hopes for my future:
I hoped for a life without violence
I hoped to escape poverty
I hoped for a career in teaching
I hoped to live in a calm house
I hoped to have a running car
I hoped to have shoes that fit
I hoped to have money to buy books
I hoped to have friends
I hoped to have happiness
I can honestly say I lived in that hope daily. My life has been a roller coaster (like most people.) The great news is that I am living life that I hoped for since I was a little girl.
Beautiful quotes Lauren. I love your story and am so happy that you found all that you hoped for.

I love your post LSS. First of all, I love Barbara Kingsolver, and that quote is so perfect for this topic. Secondly your wishes are so down to earth – a running car is my favorite, although not necessarily the most important. I have been there. I am so glad that you live in a calm house and have friends and shoes that fit. Sorry it took me so long to respond. I don’t always get the pingbacks, so it’s best to also put a link to your post in your comment as well. Welcome to #WQWWC. I hope you will return over and over again. This was a lovely experience.

I loved your post, your quotes, and I love that you rose from the hard things you experienced, held on to hope and re-wrote pages in your book.
