12 Bloggerz – May 2021

Rory asks twelve questions for bloggers to answer. My brain enjoys answering questions because heck, nobody knows my thoughts better than I do.

1. When was the last time you were totally lost? [Be this physically, mentally, emotionally or so on, interpretation is yours.] Ever since the beginning of lock-down

2. Do you think that we, as viewers to the entertainment industry, have much higher and perhaps unrealistic expectations to the content that we read, watch, or listen to today in comparison to previous years and or generations? I don’t think I have higher expectations. I do limit myself to things I enjoy though.

3. Does money ‘really’ make us happy or is that just a myth and more importantly it is ‘what you do with it’ that makes you happier? I don’t think that money makes you happy. But I do believe that struggling without enough money for basic needs makes you unhappy.

4. How important to you is it to be right? Pretty darned important

5. How often do you find yourself completely confused with life and the way it is changing and has changed over the last ten or twenty years? I think I have only been completely confused with the way life is changing since the orange one came in to power. I now have family and friends that seem more like aliens than rational people. I am still confused with their outlook on life.

6. When out shopping and carrying your goods or groceries, which do you prefer to use more often – paper or plastic bags [reusable] or cotton totes or something else? I typically use paper bags from the store. I reuse them for a multitude of things. I have my own cotton toes but usually forget them. In my humble opinion, they have the 10 cent charge for using plastic bags all wrong. It should 10 cents for a paper bag, and 75 cents for a plastic bag. That might actually change people’s usage.

7. How many emails do you get a day [roughly] and from who do you get the most? 80 – 100 a day. Mostly sales pitches or “programs” to give me a better life.

8. Have you ever made for yourself ‘homemade wine/spirits’ and if so what was it made from and how was it? Nope. I don’t drink alcohol so that would be a total waste of time.

9. In your opinion and from no ‘fixed time period,’ what have been in your eyes the top 5 most memorable television series you have ever watched and what made them special to you? Big Bang Theory – loved the characters, especially in the beginning with all their joyous nerdiness. Gilmore Girls – the interaction between the mom and daughter .   My So Called Life – the angst of growing up was well portrayed.  All In The Family – the variety of personalities portrayed more honestly than had been seen before.  Sex and the City – a truly enjoyable escape from normal life.

10. What’s wrong with today’s music as opposed to the music of your yesterday’s – do you consider the music now to be far worse or greatly improved and why? I have an eclectic taste in music. I distinctly remember my mother telling me rock and roll music was just loud noise. I sometimes feel that way about what’s being played now. I mostly enjoy my students called dinosaur music of the late 50s, 60s,70s, and 80s.

11. Does world history really matter to our daily lives – is it that important – l mean it’s not like we can change anything right – what do you think? History matters every day in my life. I want to move forward from all the mistakes of the world’s past. I can’t grow if I don’t know what went wrong.

12. Do you believe that a good night’s sleep and waking up refreshed the following day helps you make better decisions or worthier improvements to your life – or it makes no difference at all? Being an insomniac I rarely know what it is like to wake up refreshed.

  1. Lauren, #5 especially stands out to me, especially because it blatantly shows that the world, and especially our country, didn’t learn anything from the Nazi uprising. This is the scariest part of the ongoing #45 uprising that is growing every day.
