Linda is the host of SoCS. She tells us on Friday what the Saturday prompt will be. “Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “mash.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!“
Typically, I think about what I may want to write about before reading anyone else’s entries. It seems this week, that most of the blogger I follow wrote about the same things I thought of.
So…. much of this may be a repeat.
My first thought was “The Monster Mash” and how we sang it at the top of our lungs. Such a silly song. It made me smile.
My next thought went to the TV show “Mash.” I enjoyed it very much. Alan Alda was so hot. (Actually, he still is IMHO)
My next thought was mashed potatoes. I love mashed potatoes. Real mashed potatoes require real butter, a splash of milk, and a dash of salt. Yummy.
I tried cauliflower mashed as a form of a healthier side dish and I hated it. I like cauliflower, but riced, or mashed it is a huge no-no for me.
My final simple thought was the many times, in restaurants (pre-Covid) I would ask if the mashed potatoes on the menu were “real.” Rarely would it be confirmed that they were real. I learned to enjoy the baked potato because I knew you couldn’t fake that. Potatoes do not come from a box IMHO.
