Di brings us the three things challenge. Typically, I just look at the words to see what pops into my head. Tonight is no different.
Your three things today are: SOFTLY GONE HOUR
It’s after eleven PM. I know I can’t possibly fall asleep for at least another hour. My body rebels against sleep on a nightly basis. Gone is the time when I needed to get up and go to work. It’s been two years now and I still wake up at the crack of dawn. (or earlier)
When Annie has played hard all day, I can usually quietly go downstairs to bed without waking her. Otherwise, she enters the bedroom and softly lays on her downstairs bed. If I am awake, she insists on her cuddles before laying down. I am happy to oblige.
I don’t know why sleep evades me. It has been my plight most of my life. It’s not the worst thing to have to deal with, but I sure wish I could sleep when I need to.
It is really tough when one is tired but can’t sleep.

I hate it when we’re tired, but can’t unwind enough to sleep. The mind goes in all directions. Maybe you can steal a short nap later.

I’m an oftentimes insomniac with a dog so I feel every word of this. Well done.
