We are ending the year with almost as much drama as there has been for many months.
Melanie has given us some questions to reflect on this year of trials. She also asks about a more hopeful new year.
QUESTIONS
1) Pick three words to describe this past year. (please keep them PG. Thanks).
challenging, changing, choosing
2) What were the best books you read this year? Or the best movie you saw?
Where The Crawdad Sing
3) Because there was lots of time for looking inward, what is one big personal lesson you learned this past year? I learned to not beat myself up if I had no energy or too much pain. A day of doing nothing does not mean a day of failure.
4) Do you think Covid has strengthened or weakened societal bonds? When I think of how the country came together after 911 it made me happy. When I saw that go away it made me sad. Covid has caused such division, in our country especially, I feel it has weakened the bonds. I hope for recovery.
GRATITUDE SECTION (Optional of course): What is a New Year’s Wish You’d Like To Share With the World?

It was so nice outside yesterday. I was eating ice cream outside in short sleeves. Then last night it finally rained. Temps dropped 20 degrees and I am so very grateful for the liquid sunshine. We are in a drought and even the anticipated one inch of rain is very welcome.
Annie doesn’t want to go play in the rain though. She goes out the doggie door, does her business, runs back in and shakes on me. LOL

Nothing so affectionate as a wet dog Lauren. Maggie was no exception. ❤

Those of us with chronic pain have to learn our limitations are not our failures. Well, at least I do.

Thanks Lauren for Sharing Your World and your new ‘look’. Very nice! ☺ I read “Where the Crawdads Sing” as well, and enjoyed it immensely. Did the ending surprise you? It did me, a little. I suspected the whole time, but to have it verified…what a twist! I hope your New Year is bright and hopeful!

It did a little. I too was suspicious. My last haircut (when the old pic was taken) was October 2019. I did a selfie yesterday and decided to look like myself as is.
