Linda Hill’s stream of consciousness makes my Saturday blog different than my norm.
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “-tast-.” Find a word that contains “tast” and use it in your post. Enjoy!
As is my usual goal I attempt to join my blog topic with her parameters.
A Matter of Taste
Loving certain animals is a matter of taste. While I grew up with cats and dogs I know in my heart for me dogs are the best. I have had the joy of numerous furbabies in my life that have given me such joy. I am grateful for all the dogs that have shared their lives with me.
Loving certain genres of books is a matter of taste. For me self help, humor, enlightenment, autobiographies, and nonfiction are the best. My problem is that I have more books than I have time to read. I am grateful that I have time now to devote to my reading addiction.
Loving certain seasons is a matter of taste. For me spring and fall are the best. Spring, when everything is new and fresh is especially nice now that I won’t be dealing with preteen spring fever. Fall is wonderful because we leave the heat of summer and prepare for things changing. Fall is fresh and invigorating. I am grateful for the seasons that change just as I am constantly changing.
Loving certain clothes is a matter of taste. Many people love high fashion. Personally my tastes run the path of comfy clothes. I have to have soft natural fabrics that don’t irritate my skin. I am all about the easy soft clothes.
Loving certain types of jewelry is a matter of taste. Some people adorn their bodies with a multitude of trinkets. I personally always wear my Star of David. When special occasions occur, I wear a few things that have meaning to me. I used to have pierced ears and many earrings. They started to bother me and I let them close up. Numerous times over my life I have re-pierced them only to give up again. I am grateful for the few meaningful pieces of jewelry that I own.
Loving certain cars is a matter of taste. I for one do not really care much about cars. I want a means of transportation that safely gets me from point A to point B. I keep my cars for many years. I am grateful I am not interested in a new car every two years.
Loving family is a matter of choice. I had to throw in a much more controversial one to end my stream of consciousness. I have a couple of family members that are toxic to me. I can love them but know for my own personal well being I cannot have them in my life. Most of family members are loving, caring people who enrich my life. And best of all I am grateful for the wonderful people who are my family of choice. There are people who have come in to my life and joyfully have altered it. These precious beings have expanded and enriched my presence on this planet.
